BENCHMADE WARRANTY
Lifetime Lifesharp Services with Every Purchase
WARRANTY SERVICE
Each new Benchmade knife is packaged with written documentation of the Benchmade Lifetime Warranty. Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. warrants to the original owner that Benchmade knives purchased from authorized dealers will be free from defects in materials and workmanship. Benchmade will without charge, repair or replace at our (Benchmade's) option, any knife returned for Warranty work and found to be defective by Benchmade.
The Benchmade Lifetime Warranty only applies to genuine Benchmade products from authorized Benchmade dealers. Knives purchased on the internet through discount websites, mail order outlets, or through any other unauthorized source, and knives which are determined by Benchmade to be counterfeit (see Counterfeit Goods Notice below), are not entitled to our warranty coverage.
LIFESHARP SERVICE
There's never a dull moment with a Benchmade... That's right! Benchmade will gladly re-sharpen your Benchmade knife to a factory razor sharp edge (service does not apply to any serrated portion of the blade). If you prefer Benchmade to sharpen your blade, or if you may have neglected to maintain your edge for a while, simply ship your knife to Benchmade . They will not only sharpen it, but they will also inspect the knife for any warranted repairs and "tune" the knife for optimum performance.
Counterfeit Goods Notice
(a) If a knife returned for warranty work is found to be an actual or suspected counterfeit or replica item, Benchmade shall have the right to impound the knife for further investigation of its authenticity. Benchmade shall not be liable to you, or anyone else, for payment of the price any suspected counterfeit knife under investigation. If Benchmade, in its sole discretion, determines that the knife you returned for repairs is a counterfeit, Benchmade has the right to permanently impound and/or destroy the knife. Knives determined to be counterfeit will not be returned to you.
(b) Benchmade shall have the right to conduct destructive examinations to verify the authenticity of any knife Benchmade receives which it suspects to be counterfeit. Benchmade shall not be liable to you, or anyone else, for the price of any knife destroyed by examination if it is later found to be a counterfeit.
(c) Benchmade's investigation may include the participation of third parties or governmental investigative agencies as required by law. By sending in your knife for repair, you agree to cooperate in good faith with any investigation conducted by Benchmade, third parties, and/or governmental agencies, including, but not limited to, cooperating with investigations to identify the seller or source of the counterfeit goods by providing the name, location, and other identifying information about the seller.
What Is Covered
This Warranty covers replacement parts for genuine Benchmade products due to manufacturing defects.
What is NOT Covered
This Warranty does not cover normal wear, resharpening of the blade, damage caused by neglect, misuse or the failure to perform normal or necessary maintenance, disassembly of any knife by any person other than Benchmade’s Warranty department, or shipping costs for returned knives.
Do not use your new knife as a screwdriver, pry bar, chisel or punch. Do not throw your knife or use it for any purpose other than cutting. Do not disassemble your knife. Do not sharpen your knife on a power grinding wheel. Any of these acts will void your Warranty. MINIMUM CHARGE TO REASSEMBLE A KNIFE WHEN THE WARRANTY HAS BEEN VOIDED IS $20 PLUS PARTS.
Repair or replacement as provided under this Warranty is the exclusive remedy of the consumer. Benchmade shall not be liable for any incidental, reliance, or consequential damages or breach of implied Warranty on this product, including any damage to person or property. Benchmade’s liability under any circumstances is limited to the purchase price. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
This knife has only one use, as a cutting tool. Benchmade’s knives carry no warranty except as expressly contained herein. Benchmade disclaims all warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose other than for use as a cutting tool. There are no warranties which extend beyond the description contained herein. Please review the Warranty information and proper knife care instructions provided with each knife.
Knife Care
Benchmade knives are high-performance cutting tools made from some of the finest materials in the world. Even though we use these select materials it is still important to use proper care and maintenance to ensure optimum performance levels. Always keep your knife blade sharp. A dull knife requires additional force to use and is potentially more dangerous to use than a sharp one. There are a variety of products available when it comes to sharpening your knife. As for which one is best, it pretty much comes down to choosing the one you're most comfortable with using. Never sharpen your knife on a power-grinding wheel as this can burn the temper out of the blade and weaken its integrity. Benchmade also offers a LifeSharp service to its customers, which is a nice convenience.
Always keep the locking areas of your knife clean- accumulation of dirt or debris could adversely affect the locking mechanism creating a potential safety hazard. To clean these areas we recommend using compressed air and lubricating with the specialty lubricant, BlueLube.
Most of our blade steels have a very high carbon content which enables them to hold a superior cutting edge. Unfortunately, carbon is also the element that causes rust so, preventive care is required if the knife is used in humid or marine environments. To aid in the cleaning of rust on the blades, we recommend using a fine grade, semi-chrome polish. A product such as marine Tuf-Cloth™ works well to not only wipe down the blade for cleaning but, also adds an invisible coating for added corrosion protection without leaving any oily film which may attract dirt and debris. Lightly lubricate the pivot of the blade periodically to keep it operating smoothly.
Never attempt to use your knife as a screwdriver, pry-bar, chisel, or punch. Never throw your knife. It was not designed for those purposes. Use for any purpose other than cutting is considered abuse and is not covered under the Benchmade Warranty. DO NOT disassemble your Benchmade knife. Disassembly by anyone other than the Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. Warranty/Repair Department will void the warranty! Minimum charge to reassemble your knife is $20.00 plus parts.
Most of all please enjoy your new knife and always remember to use it in a safe, responsible manner. Thank you for choosing Benchmade.

CERAMIC KNIVES
Boker ceramic knives are very keen cutting instruments but are not intended for chopping or cutting hard items such as bone, staples, or frozen products and are not to be used for whittling. Also, care must be taken while cutting items such as fibrous vegetables and cheeses.
Please exercise caution when using ceramic bladed knives.
Due to their extreme hardness, which is why they do not need to be sharpened as often as a steel blade, they are brittle. Therefore, blade breakage or chipping is not covered under warranty. We do provide a sharpening service, which can get out most small chips in the blade and restore the original edge.
Do not attempt to sharpen your Ceramic knife on your own.
If you need to have your knife sharpened, please refer to the information below.

COLUMBIA RIVER KNIFE AND TOOL WARRANTY
The CRKT® Limited Lifetime Knife Warranty
This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship. If one of our knives ever breaks or fails because of material or manufacturing defect, we’ll repair or replace the knife.
This warranty runs as long as you own your knife. Coverage ends if you sell or otherwise transfer the knife to someone else, or if your CRKT® knife is modified in any way.
This warranty does not cover breakage or failure due to misuse of the knife. Knives as good as ours rarely break or fail because of a defect. Usually they break or fail from what we call “tool abuse”—using them for unsuitable tasks like prying or pounding. Therefore, blade tip breakage is not covered by our warranty. Use of a knife for any purpose other than cutting voids the warranty. (The exceptions to this caution are the A.B.C. Aqua and MAK-1 Multiple Access Knife which have tips designed specifically for prying.) So please match the tool to the task, and use your knife only for cutting. The knife will last longer, and you’ll be safer too. This warranty does not cover failure of mechanisms due to your failure to properly maintain them.
Also, consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages, so this exclusion or limitation may not apply to you.
Misuse of your knife can cause serious injury or even death. It can also cause your knife to break or fail and the CRKT® limited lifetime warranty will not apply. Failure to properly maintain your knife also may cause its mechanisms to not function properly, which could result in injury to you or damage to the knife. Follow the do’s and don’ts which are included in your CRKT® knife package and the knife will last longer and you’ll be safer too.

MEDFORD KNIFE AND TOOL WARRANTY
LIMITED WARRANTY, CARE & MAINTENANCE
Thank you for purchasing your Medford Knife & Tool original hand-made knife. We make these tools for a lifetime of use. With common sense and some basic care, you will leave this knife to your heirs. We warranty the knife from breaking or failing in any way if used within reasonably accepted norms of folding knife applications. The finish will wear and show use over time based on your care and should be seen as the mark of a seasoned tool. We will not refinish blades and handles but prefer to tune and leave the character of a knife’s use intact.
Things NOT to do: Heavy prying. Hammering. Extended exposure to salt water, either submersion or exposure without care and washing. Carrying in pocket with loose metal objects! No tools of any kind on your knife. No exceptions.
We have many thousands of knives in service around the planet doing everything from the mundane to the extraordinary. It is an honor for us to serve you all in this way, Occasionally there are service, warranty and sharpening needs that really should be done by our craftsmen at the Shactory. We have at any given moment between 0-5 knives in house for work. Our return volume is amazingly low but extremely important to us. Many “returns” can be avoided by some basic coaching on the phone so we want to speak directly with you to see if the inconvenience and expense of a return can be averted.
WARRANTY WORK
This is all non-cosmetic functionality related concerns. Lock stick, unsprung locks, loose hardware, bent components, damaged clips, damaged blades, lock slip, lock rock or lock failure. Not covered are things like scratches, cosmetic wear and blemishes from use, coating wear, adjustments to the markings on your knife and such.
Sharpening – Sharpening is free for life and done same day always or if you are local, while you wait.
Service work – We will always address functionality issues with knives regardless of the state of warranty. Warranty items are free and typically completed and returned within 72 hours of arrival at the Shactory. Knives not under warranty are treated exactly the same but any fees are discussed with owners as they come up.
Reconfiguring – We do not do restoration, reconditioning, changing of components or cosmetic modifications…ever. Your knife should endure many years of use if treated properly and cleaned and oiled as needed. Customers may request “tear-down tune-ups” and MKT reserves the right to accept or decline based on work tempo internally. Tear-down tune-ups are $150 if the knife is untampered, still under warranty and functional with no parts needing replacement. Again, this is a discretionary service based on shop time availability. Knives NOT under warranty may be handled for the same fee depending on the extent of any modifications that have been done to the knife.
GET APPROVAL
The process folks: All items shipped to the Shactory must have a pre-approved RMA number issued from our office. This Return to Manufacturer Authorization number must be large and legible on the outside of your return package or it will not be accepted. Only UPS or FedEx packages with signature required and tracking are accepted by us. We recommend fully insuring all knives sent to us at their replacement value. MKT accepts no liability for lost items until we sign for the package at which time your baby is in most trusted hands.
No United States Postal packages are accepted at our company.
Use the following address after getting your RMA#:
RMA#____________________
MKT USA
17464 N. 25th Avenue
Phoenix, AZ 85023
A note about our United States Post Service policy- They seem to “misplace” knives after entering them as “delivered” at our facility. Therefore we do not accept USPS packages of any kind and accept no responsibility for packages sent this way. We will not get tied up trying to do a postal claim that takes many phone calls and years to process
Care and Maintenance: Make sure you maintain a SHARP knife. S-35VN blades are very rust-resistant so light oil from time to time and after any water exposure is adequate. CPM 3V is awesome stuff but will absolutely rust so maintain with oil D-2 blades are carbon steels and can rust, so oil occasionally. Do not disassemble unless very experienced in knife-making. Disassembly voids any warranty implied or expressed. Sharpen with any means traditionally used, or return for free sharpening for life. To return knives to the Factory for servicing please contact the Factory directly to receive a return authorization number prior to shipment or the package will not be accepted. There are minimal fees for tuning blades. Please inquire when getting your return authorization number.
